Charleston Workshop for Time to Dance Children!

Our dancers had a ball on Monday! Emily (or Zelda!) from The Gatsby Girls dance troupe came to tell them all about the dance of the 1920's.

She showed them some typical costumes and explained how daring these clothes were at that time. The children then donned their own feather headdresses and hats and had a go at some of the most popular moves, including: the basic Charleston, the Charleston flick, the black bottom, the mess around, the scarecrow and the bee's knees.

They played some games using their dance moves and performed a routine. No doubt we'll see some of these moves in their own choreography soon!
