At the beginning of the lesson we couldn’t identify any features. Some of us knew what a contents page was and we understood that labels could be used for pictures. We learned about the features like glossaries, index and headings with Mrs Holmes on the carpet then we were able to look at our own non-fiction books. We had a checklist and could use iPads to take photos of what we found.
At the end of the lesson, we could all share examples of the features. When we look at non-fiction books in the coming weeks we will use the vocabulary we learned today.
