Week 6
More fantastic learning from Chaffinch Class
English
In English this week children completed a writing assessment. They all worked incredibly hard to write independently and try to include some of the many skills we have learned in year two so far. They wrote some fantastic stories, well done!
Maths
This week we have been concentrating on multiplying and dividing by two and noticing this is the same as doubling and halving. We have also been practising doubling two-digit numbers.
Geography
Children thought about Worthing and discussed the many different features it has. They then thought about Antarctica and identified their difference. Children then collected the facts they had learnt and had to choose where they would like to live, Antarctica or Worthing and explain why. We had some very interesting answers!
Art
Children created their Polar animals’ mono prints, they worked incredibly carefully to produce some fantastic prints! We then used this skill to create mono print self-portraits that look fantastic!
