ARCHERY

Dove class had a great opportunity to learn a new skill today!

They had an archery lesson in the hall, and played lots of team games which involved maths. Check out our videos and photos for all the action!

MAYAN DAY!

What a wonderful fun day we have had!

Dove class found out about Mayan food, clothes, homes and myths - and their maths!

We made tortilla chips out of cornmeal and tasted all kinds of food the Mayans would have eaten - avocado, tomato, sweet potato, squash, beans and corn. Then we tried their favourite drink - but we thought it was bitter and horrid! They drank a kind of hot chocolate which had no milk or sugar in it. It also had spices (but Mrs Kearl was kind and didn't put hot chillies in it as they would have done).

We also made Mayan headdresses with feathers and card. Did you know, the larger the headdress, the more important the Mayan!

Take a look at our photos from the day.
