Week 7 13.12.21
Rhyming with Julia Topic
Wow! Duckling Class have completed their first term at school and they have done extremely well :)
We have had a wonderful week leading up to our Christmas break – A delicious Christmas Lunch, film & treats as well as the highlight of the week, our Santa’s Breakfast! It has all been so much fun!
We completed our first school outing to the local postbox this week. We prepared the Christmas cards for our previous pre-school; gathered stamps and wrote the settings address on an envelope. We then hand delivered our cards to the local postbox. We made sure we kept ourselves safe during our first school outing. We held hands with a partner, listened to our adults instructions and remembered to 'stop, look, listen and think' when we approached a road. We have since received some lovely ‘thank you’ emails from the pre-schools so we know our cards have been delivered and have spread some Christmas cheer :)
We also enjoyed recapping all of our taught sounds in our phonics revisit session and playing some new games to help make it lots of fun e.g. musical bumps or statues and when the music stopped we read a few of our super speedy sounds! Or the game ‘Beat the Star!’ (Same rules as ‘Hangman’ but the title has been changed and a star is drawn instead :) )
We’ve shown our creative side this week by creating and decorating our own gift and wrapping paper for our loved ones! When designing our wrapping paper we discussed the importance of recycling and how the brown paper we had decorated could be recycled and reused – It’s so important that we’re doing our bit to help look after our planet :) We look forward to surprising our loved ones with a gift on Christmas Day!
So after a very busy and exciting first term at school, we are all in need of a relaxing and joyful Christmas break! We look forward to welcoming Duckling Class back in January and we’re certain they will be just as eager and determined to learn more in the New Year :)
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
