week 1

Children have had a fantastic week settling into their new classroom and new routines. We have spent the week looking at our Bramber values and thinking about how we can be respectful and responsible in the classroom and around school.

In English we have been reading the text 'The dot by Peter H Reynolds. We have been using our imagination to think of all the things a dot can be. We worked in groups to come up with lots of fantastic ideas. We are using these ideas to write a poem. We have also used the story to think about the main character and how she represents our Bramber values by showing resilience and being brave and ambitious. 

In Maths we have been revising our numbers to 100 and starting our new unit of work 'Place value' we have been grouping in tens and using this to represent multiples of 10.
