Week 6 06.12.21

Week 6

Rhyming with Julia Topic

What a busy week Duckling Class have had!

At the start of the week we discovered a stick on our carpet area. It got us thinking about all the possibilities for what the stick could be, for example a sword, wand or broomstick! We created a ‘stage area’ using masking tape and had a go at using the stick as a prop in our own story. We were very brave to stand up in front of our friends to share and perform our wonderful stories! We later discovered the story of Stickman and realised the stick we had found was a character from one of Julia Donaldson's books. We enjoyed reading the story, especially as Santa made an appearance!

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we performed in the Christmas Nativity and it was a great success! We thoroughly enjoyed wearing our costumes and singing beautiful songs with the help of Mrs Morgan – All of our grown-ups at school were extremely proud of us and we think our parents loved coming into school to see our performances :)

We were also proud of ourselves for reaching the Treat 1 on our class Marble Jar by displaying our Bramber Values! We enjoyed every second of our treat which involved bringing in a toy from home to school. We were all very sensible and looked after toys while having amazing fun!

Towards the end of the week, we spent time designing and creating Christmas cards to send to our previous pre-school/ nursery. We thought it would be nice to let our previous key people know how well we have settled into school and thank them for all their help. And most importantly, we wanted to wish them a Merry Christmas! We have talked about our upcoming walk to the local post box and the importance of keeping ourselves and others safe whilst we walk out of the school grounds. We are well-prepared and we look forward to delivering our Christmas cards to the post box next week :)

Only 1 week left till our Christmas Holidays – We look forward to lots of Christmas fun next week :) Enjoy your weekend everyone!
