Week 13
This week we practised our reading comprehension with a SATs past paper.
We learnt about finding percentages of amounts and using known percentages to calculate totals.
We also created some Bowles inspired writing - newspaper reports, thank you letters, activity booklets and recounts.
We recapped about the Arctic and Antarctic circles in Geography and also looked at the changes as humans develop into old age.
A massive part of our week this week has been our DT projects. We have been working in groups to create a shelter that could help someone survive on a deserted island. We then tested these shelters against the elements by blasting them with 'wind', 'rain' and 'flying debris'. Luckily the shelters were sturdy and waterproof enough and all of those who were stranded survived.
