Kerry Jones, Chair of Governors. Email - chair@bramberprimary.com

Mrs Kerry Jones

I joined the governing body at Bramber in 2018 having been a school governor at other local schools since 2011. My daughter was in the first year group fortunate enough to be able to stay at Bramber until Year 6 following the transition from a First to a Primary school. I have always been involved with the school, as Treasurer for the Friends of Bramber for over 6 years and remain a trustee. When my daughter left Bramber, I was delighted to join the governing body and continue to be part of the school, with its creative and inclusive environment, rich curriculum and strong sense of community and belonging. I am privileged to be able work alongside highly dedicated and skilled staff and governors to build on the successes and to plan, and be part of a thriving future.

As well as Chair of Governors at Bramber, I am also Chair at a local secondary school and a primary school which is part of a multi-academy trust. I am also a governor at a small school north of Chichester. In addition, I am a Primary School Maintained Governor Representative at WSCC Schools Forum and Vice Chair and Treasurer of the West Sussex Governors Association (WSGA). I feel that by being a governor at several schools and participating in the Schools Forum and WSGA, I am better able to understand local and national issues facing schools and have experienced different ways of working, seen excellent practice and dealt with a huge variety of issues that governors need to get to grips with.

I came to being a school governor by chance but it has become one of the most rewarding things I have had the opportunity to be part of and I am immensely proud to be part of the team at Bramber and excited about where the future will take us.
