Week 7

This week on Thursday, we went to the KS1 Legacy Games at Durrington Infant & Junior School. We had lots of fun competing as Japan and getting involved with lots of sporting events.

English

The children have finished planning and begun to write their diary entries of people escaping the Great Fire of London.

Maths

Children have been learning all about money, we have been making amounts using coins and the children have been working really hard.

DT

We have been writing our Design Criteria this week, children explored how to make their Fire Trucks and are very excited to make them.

Geography

We have continued looking at London landmarks and the children were able to explore maps using a compass and follow directions.

Science

We have been looking at different animals and matching them to their babies. Children decided whether the animals looked like their parents and told us all about their pets at home.

Next week in Chaffinch class

English – Children will continue writing their Great Fire of London diary entries.

Maths - Consolidation

Science – We are continuing to explore animals next week, focusing on life cycles.

D&T – Children will explore more ways to build their Fire Trucks and start planning a prototype.

Geography –  We are going to describe different geographical features across London.
