Week 3
This week in Chaffinch class.
Children have had a fantastic week of learning!
English
Children have been preparing to write their fire reports, they have created a word bank, plan and toolkit for their write next week.
Maths
Children have been working really hard learning how to recognise and find fractions. They are able to identify halves, quarters, three quarters and thirds.
Science
This week as part of our Plants topic children got the opportunity to plant their own sunflower seed. Over the next few weeks they will observe and record their seed’s growth.
Reading
We have begun to read Gorillas by Anthony Browne, children have been using their inference skills to understand the characters and the story.
Humanities
Children looked at how far the fire spread and discussed the reasons for this. They plotted the fire and key landmarks onto a map using a grid reference.
Art
After looking at architects this week children had the opportunity to become one and began to build their 1666 house with a partner.
