Week 9
Learning in Chaffinch class this week
This week we welcomed Miss Gale our student teacher to Chaffinch class, who will be with us until the summer.
English
This week children have been planning and started to write their magic box poems. They have done a fantastic job so far of creating descriptive sentences about items they wish to put in their icy box.
Maths
Children have continued to work on shapes this week. They have been learning the properties of £D shapes and lines of symmetry
Marvellous Middle - Science
This week was science week, children got to enjoy a whole morning of science where they learnt about a scientist and thought about what they would do if they are a scientist when they grow up. Then we carried out an investigation to see what effect salt, sugar and pepper have on ice melting. Children had to build an iceberg or igloo with ice cubes and test which item if any made the ice melt.
