Week 11

This week in Chaffinch class

English

Children began their last writing unit for our topic icy worlds. Our writing is based around the story ‘The Boy Who Brought the Snow’ the children are creating some fantastic descriptive writing.

Maths

This week children began measurement length and height. Children have had lots of fun using different measurements to measure objects and themselves.

DT

Children have been working hard on their DT projects, after making a prototype and writing out the plan they have begun to construct their Jack Frost puppets.

PE

Children have been continuing with their fitness topic we have been learning how skipping can be great way to stay active.

Geography

Children completed their research on a chosen continent and created a fantastic fact poster or leaflet to show their learning.

Next week

English – Children will be writing a setting description.

Maths – continuing with length and height, comparing measurements.

Geography – looking at temperature of the Polar Regions and comparing to temperature in Worthing.

DT – children will finish and evaluate their Jack Frost puppets.

PE – children will have the last of their fitness unit of work.
