Bowles Residential
Last week, we had a brilliant time on our week long residential at Bowles! Here are a few photos of us and the activities that we got to do.
Book Swap!

English
This week, we found a crime scene in our school! Humpty Dumpty was reported missing and presumed dead. We had to act in roles as detectives scanning the crime scene for clues.

Then we read a detective story based on the crime scene we had just investigated as detectives. To show our understanding, we acted out the story in freeze frames.

History - Fabulous Finish: Millenium Party
After learning all about changes in migration, music, fashion, technology and food from 1950's to the 1990's, we had a Millenium party in our class. We dressed in clothes from one of the decades and listened to songs and artists from this time including the conga song!

History - Marvellous Middle: VE Day celebration!
After exploring how Victory in Europe was declared and celebrated, we did it ourselves! We dressed as children from the time, had a street party and performed Lindy Hop dances in groups! Look at our hop kicks, hand jives and charlestons!
English - Formal Speeches
We wrote in role as the UK Prime Minister. We had the opportunity to announce the outbreak of war against Germany in 1939, against another country or against another life form or even AI! We had to ensure that we used formal language to inform the UK public. Here are some photos of us posing as the Prime Minister!
History - Stunning Start
We acted in roles as evacuee children during operation Pied Piper in World War 2. Following this, we had the opportunity to look at real artefacts from the time and raise questions that we wanted to answer in our this topic.
