What a busy, exciting end to the half-term! We’ve been so proud of Chaffinch’s enthusiasm and hard work this half term 😄

✍️ English

The classroom has been bursting with imagination as we’ve brainstormed fascinating facts about our fictional animals. We’ve used the writing skills from our toolkit to improve our work – we know a lot about our fictional animals now and can share some cool facts! ❄️

✖️ Maths

Chaffinch have been practising division by sharing items equally between groups 🍬🍬🍬

🔬 Science

Back on the island, we discovered a treasure chest full of food! We enjoyed sharing what we hope is in the box, then filled our Eatwell plates to make sure our island diet is healthy and keeps us energised. There were some interesting choices… some shrimp pizzas and lots of meaty pizzas with a side of chocolate! 🍕🍫

💃 PE

Chaffinch shared their dance skills and favourite moves with each other to some excellent music. We shared some great dance routines and are ready for the friendship ball!

✏️Art

We had a chance to reflect on our stunning monoprints. We discussed our favourite parts of the prints that we’re proud of and thought of what we’d add to improve our sketches next time ✏️

⛪ RE

Chaffinch shared what they like to do during Easter time, and retold the Christian Easter story. We acted out key scenes of the Easter story and drew out detailed storyboards – what a creative, festive lesson! 🎭📚

🧊 Geography

We travelled to the Arctic circle and learned about towns and cities there. We recognised human features like roads and building sites and compared them to Worthing. We decided the towns look similar but are probably much colder! Would you like to live in the Arctic circle?☃️

🖥️ RSHE

We’ve been learning how to protect ourselves online. We’d discussed choosing safe usernames and avatars, being careful with sharing photos and thought about who belongs in our private online circle. thinking about why it’s so important to protect ourselves from different risks online.
