Welcome Miss Campagna

We have a new trainee teacher with us until January, and it has been lovely getting to know her, and lovely for her to build relationships with Robins! She has done some fun activities with us, including a nature hunt and robin silhouette art.

In English this week, we planned our very first stories, using Stanley’s Stick as a framework. We thought of three things our stick could be, then fitted them into a scaffolded framework. We decided ourselves how to start and end our stories. Well done to the children for completing their first planned write!

In maths we have continued counting across the tens, and understanding what comes before and after a tens number. In Science we went on a nature hunt, looking for different textures.

In phonics we have revisited the ou and oy sounds and words that use them.

In Art we made robin silhouette pictures using a stencil. In RE we have been talking about our favourite celebrations. Well done, Robins! I hope everyone has a super half term break!

After half term

• Phonics – focus on set 2 sounds in alien words

• Writing – handwriting practice and identifying nouns

• Reading - Lost in the Toy Museum

• History – investigating old toys from Worthing Museum

• RHE – Dangers in the home and in the environment

• Maths – comparing amounts

  • Our first story drafts!
