Harvest time

This week we have celebrated one of our favourite festivals in the year – harvest! Mrs Scott held a lovely assembly where we thought about all the people who provide food for us to eat and what an amazing job they do. We also thought about those people who don’t always have what they need, and how we will all do our best to do good things for other people. We had an amazing collection of food items (thank you parents!) which will all go towards the local Turning Tides charity in Worthing.

In English, we continued to be inspired by the book ‘Stuck’, and this time thought about times we had been stuck and what happened. Then we imagined scenarios where someone was stuck, and how we could help them. We wrote this up in our writing books.

In maths we have been rehearsing our teen numbers, looking at the tricky language of how those numbers are written. We have also been thinking about ‘one more and one less’ and used lots of different types of counting resources to demonstrate our understanding.

In Science we had a nature walk to take in the full glory of autumn now that it seems to have fully arrived. We went back to class and drew beautiful autumn scenes.

In phonics we have revisited the or sound and its different spellings.

In RHE we have been thinking about people who help us at home and at school.

In Art we had a go at continuous line drawings in our sketch books – they were very successful!

Great work, Robins!
