Tower of London

🌟 Chaffinch Class Trip to the Tower of London 🌟

What a fantastic day we had!

The children were brilliant on the journey to London. As we arrived, we had great fun counting red buses and spotting famous landmarks. We saw The Shard and The Monument, and there was an almighty screech of excitement as we drove across Tower Bridge!

At the Tower of London, we explored the impressive White Tower, bravely climbing its many stairs. Inside, we discovered armour and weapons from across the years and learned how the castle has changed over time.

Next, we visited the Crown Jewels. We saw the guards outside and were even lucky enough to watch them change over! Inside, we were amazed by the beautiful diamonds and the variety of magnificent crowns.

After enjoying a well-earned rest in the shade, we met a very special character — a friend of Samuel Pepys! He transported us back to 1666, where we discovered what it was like to witness the Great Fire of London and escape the flames. The children had so much fun bringing the story to life through acting.

Before leaving, we managed to find a real Beefeater and asked some fantastic questions, learning even more about the Tower’s history.

Throughout the entire day, the children’s behaviour and attitude were outstanding. They were respectful to staff and other visitors, showed great curiosity, and fully embraced every moment. They were an absolute credit to Bramber.

Well done, Chaffinch Class — we are so proud of you! 👏
