Chaffinch Class – What We’ve Been Learning This Week!

What a busy and brilliant week we’ve had in Chaffinch Class! Here’s a peek at all the exciting learning we’ve been enjoying ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜Š

โœ๏ธ English

The children have finished writing their Fantastic Fire reports this week – and wow, they were amazing! ๐Ÿ”ฅโœ๏ธ
We have been working hard on our editing skills, choosing exciting words and making sure our Year 1 and Year 2 spellings are accurate. The children showed great independence and pride in improving their work.

๐Ÿ”ข Maths

We continued our learning about fractions, and the children are doing a fantastic job! โญ
They have been confidently finding halves, thirds, quarters, and three-quarters of amounts, using practical activities and problem solving.

๐Ÿ” Science

In Science, we reflected on our investigation and wrote an evaluation ๐Ÿงช
The children thought carefully about their predictions, what they found out, and what they would do differently next time – just like real scientists!

๐Ÿ›๏ธ History

This week, we explored how it would have felt to leave London during The Great Fire, knowing homes would be destroyed.
We linked this to the world today, thinking about how some people still have to leave their homes and live in difficult conditions. The children showed lots of empathy and thoughtful discussion โค๏ธ๐ŸŒ

โœ๏ธ RE

We have been learning about The Good Samaritan, thinking about what it really means to be a good neighbour and how we can show kindness and care to others every day.

๐Ÿ’– RSHE

In RSHE, we are learning about healthy lifestyles ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ˜ด
We talked about how much sleep we need and the daily routines we follow to make sure we are looking after our bodies and minds.
