w.c. 12th October

Another busy week in Seagulls! In English, we have been exploring how to use proper nouns and pronouns effectively to make our writing flow and avoid repetition, ready for writing our news reports about the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.

In Maths, we have been applying our place value knowledge by partitioning numbers up to 2,000 in different ways in the context of measures. In Science, the children had great fun making four different types of switches and using them to control their electrical circuits.

In PE, we developed movements and sequences, performing for one another and giving constructive feedback. We also explored respect, manners and making good choices in different situations in RE.

In History, we learned about the Ancient Egyptian social hierarchy and the children came up with questions to research about the different aspects of daily life.

Finally, the children completed their fantastic poetry comics in Art, using a range of mixed media techniques!

  • Maths: Extending our place value knowledge into the thousands
