🌟 This Week in Chaffinch Class 🌟

It’s been another busy and exciting week in Chaffinch Class! Here’s what we’ve been learning:

📚 English

The children have been sequencing the story Katie in London and exploring ways to adapt the story to make it their own. We’ve loved seeing their creativity shine!

🔢 Maths

We have continued our work on statistics. The children have been learning how to create block diagrams and pictograms, showing their data clearly and carefully.

🔬 Science

This week, we explored the importance of recycling and discussed ways we can reuse materials to help look after our planet 🌍.

🚒 DT

The children have begun designing their very own fire trucks – we’re really looking forward to seeing their ideas come to life!

🗺️ Geography

We’ve been learning about famous London landmarks. The children had great fun writing riddles to describe them – can you guess which landmarks they chose?

😊 RSHE

Our focus has been on oral hygiene. We’ve talked about how to keep our teeth clean and healthy, and which foods are good (and not so good!) for our teeth 🦷

💛 A Special Goodbye

This week we also sadly said goodbye to Miss Tomlin. She has been a fantastic addition to Chaffinch Class, and we will miss her greatly. We wish her all the very best for the final year of her degree 🎓

We’re very pleased that we’ll still see her on our London trip, and she will be popping in to visit us when she can!

Looking Ahead to Next Week

We are off to London!! 🎉

We are incredibly excited about our trip! On Monday, we will be talking to the children about what to expect and what they will need for the day.

After our trip, on Wednesday, we’ll be:

✨ Creating collages of the day
✨ Sharing everything we have seen and learned
