✨ What a Fantastic Week in Chaffinch Class! ✨

We’ve had a busy and exciting week full of learning, creativity and brilliant ideas! Here’s what we’ve been up to… 👇

📚 English

The children have been exploring the Great Fire of London 🔥 and creating their own descriptive sentences. We used our imaginations to think about what people might have seen 👀, heard 👂 and smelled 👃 during the fire. We also practised using different word types to build fantastic, detailed sentences—and they were amazing!

🔢 Maths

In Maths, we have continued our learning all about mass, capacity and temperature 🌡️. This week, we focused on:

• Reading temperatures
• Measuring and reading millilitres 🧪

The children showed great confidence using different measuring tools—well done!

🔬 Science

Our materials topic got even more interesting this week! The children carried out an investigation to explore how materials can change. We tested whether different materials could:

• Bend
• Twist
• Squash
• Stretch

There were some fantastic scientific discussions and predictions! 🧠✨

🏛️ History

We stepped back in time and became law makers after the Great Fire of London! 🏙️
The children thought carefully about how London could be rebuilt to stop another fire from happening. They came up with some brilliant ideas—and were excited to discover that many of their ideas were actually put in place in real life! 👏

💛 RSHE

This week we have been thinking about kindness and all the different ways we can show it. From helping friends to using kind words, the children had some thoughtful and heartwarming ideas. 🌈✨

🎨 Art

Our classroom turned into a mini London skyline! 🏙️
The children created famous London landmarks using a range of construction materials. We had some amazing models of:

• Big Ben 🕰️
• The Shard 🏢
• London Bridge 🌉

Such creativity and teamwork—well done, everyone!
