Learning in Chaffinch Class this week

English

Children have been learning how to use co ordinating conjunctions in their writing, commas in a list and prepositions. This is all in preparation for the upcoming writing about habitats.

Maths

We are continuing our topic of addition and subtraction. Children have been practising adding and subtracting two 2-digit numbers. They have been adding and subtracting tens and have also began to learn how to cross a ten in addition

Science

This week children took part in their worm investigation, they went outside to explore where they can find worms, they recorded their findings on a table noting the colour, place found and a rough length of the worm.

DT

We began to discuss out DT project for this term an making a healthy snack for our fabulous finish picnic. We spoke about what we mean by a ‘balanced diet’ and what types of food are found in each food group.

RE

This week we have learned about the celebration of Hanukah. We learned about who celebrates Hanukah and what the celebration is for.

Computing

Children have been learning how to take photographs using iPad. They went outside to see how creative they could be with the pictures they took
