WB 22.09.25
English
In English this week we have been learning about noun phrases. Children have been using adjectives and nous to create noun phrases to describe Autumn. We have also looked at verbs and how these can add more detail to our sentences.
Maths
We have been working with numbers within 100 and placing these on a number line. We have also been using what we know about numbers to estimate numbers on a number line. Lastly, we have been using the vocabulary ‘more than, less than’ to compare two 2-digit numbers.
Science
In science, we looked at categorising items in our school into ‘alive, use to be alive, never been alive’. We went outside to explore and see how many items we could put into each category.
Geography
In geography, as part of our ‘where I live’ topic, we learned about the four countries of the United Kingdom and their capital cities. We spoke about where we live and if we could place it on the map.
Art
In art we looked at making patterns our of natural resources. We went outside and used a range of items we could find on the woodland floor to create interesting patterns.
RE
In RE, we spoke about why Harvest is celebrated and when we watched part of a Harvest service and a Harvest festival celebration in school. We read a prayer and talked about what it means and thought about why do Christians say prayers? Children drew pictures for the lines of the prayer.
Computing
In computing we continued our topic of ‘What is IT?’ Children used laptops and learned how to resize an image.
