Art
Look at our charcoal sketches inspired by the 1940s artist Henry Moore! After spending a night in an underground station, sheltering from the German bombs of the Blitz, he would go home and draw the images of people huddled closely together the night before. Their shapes were ingrained in his mind. Year 6 had to closely consider the keywords of foreground, background, focal point and leading lines in their work.
Science
We were given a torch (light source), sheets of black paper (opaque object) and a whiteboard. Using this equipment we had to learn and understand how light travels....
History
For our Stunning Start to our World War II topic 'We'll Meet Again', we got to act in role as evacuees and handling artefacts from the time!
